e-learning

Greetings,

So, this week we were given this thing they called e-learning week. To some, this is the equivalent of giving a week long break. To some others, there is no real difference between e-learning and not.

My take? I honestly prefer going back to school. Suddenly I am plagued with so many (more) assignments, tutorials, web casted lectures, chat rooms to attend etc. If the purpose of e-learning week was to replace what was to be learnt in school with that which can be learnt at home, then I suppose it has achieved its aims. But honestly, what is the point of it if people need to wake up early to attend 8am chatrooms with their tutors and sit through the same session (as it would have been if they went to school).

Perhaps on one hand it is my lack of discipline which would cause me to feel as if I have less time to myself during e-learning week than an ordinary week. Aside from, well, spending half a day on a rotten accounting tutorial which is really tedious only really succeeds in frustrating more than educating and wondering if the webcasted lectures will all be uploaded on friday, somehow time seems to slip away pretty quickly.

Nonetheless, I reckon it is imposed for purposes that are higher than a very myopic one which I mentioned. Environmental conservation perhaps.

I just needed to get this off my annoyed chest.

Cheers, as always,
RRR
